JK’s Code has been getting some incredible acclaim, and I’m grateful for all of it! 🤩🌟

But I have to say, some of my favorite reviews are those that remind me that the book is actually… quite funny?! Knowing that my writing makes people laugh while holding onto the edge of their seats really makes my day. 😂

See below for what readers and authors alike are saying about JK’s Code! And if you like what you see, but haven’t yet read the book, I’ve got good news for you! JK’s Code is currently on sale for $0.99 for a limited time (the regular price is $6.99).

Reading helps us to escape reality, and 2021 is still feeling very 2020-ish. We’re all pulling our purse strings tighter, trying to cope with a lot of stress. It’s an absolute pleasure for me to do what I can to help make people feel a little bit better by discounting my books. I want to make sure as many people as possible can and will have the ability to buy a copy and enjoy it with little to no impact on their wallets.

Praise for JK’s Code

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 Stars

“Ronald S. Barak’s JKs Code is a book of fiction, a novel that’s political satire, humor about a situation with characters who are as real as the ones we see on the evening news. Actually, this book of fiction echoes so much like those characters to make one more than a little uncomfortable.

The story takes place between July 2019 and October 2020. It deals with computer hacking, Russian hackers, election fraud, and, oh my goodness, a golf playing POTUS who owns his own golf course, and whose ‘face… (gets) as orange as the rug barely held in place atop his head.’ And he’s a tweeter!

This is a well-written, easy to read, hard to put down, satire, a political thriller, as up-to-date as the nightly news, and it’s entertaining. And yes, it has a hero, Jake Klein, (JK), a twenty year old cyber security guy. We get a look at the world of computer geeks, of hackers, and at the dark web, and at Russian mischief making. I highly recommend this book. It’s an easy and enjoyable read that’s a thought provoker.”

“Well, if you thought living through 2020 was wild, the reread is just as zany of a ride! This book was just the read I needed to round out the year. JK’s Code is a fictional (ahem) look at the extreme idiocy and governmental mismanagement that led us up to this latest U.S. Presidential election, the latest cries for racial/social justice in this country, and finally the global pandemic.

If you ever wanted to speculate on the extent of our collusion with Russia, what our world leaders are actually gabbing about with one another, and who controls what in cyberspace, you will be highly entertained with this read.

Kudos to the author for taking current events that are truly stranger than fiction and really milking them for some more silliness. It was nice to have the chance to laugh at 2020 via this book.”

“Ronald S. Barak’s JK’s Code is both timely and timeless, and did I mention . . . terrific? Timely because election fraud is the heart of the story. Timeless because it’s a classic thriller laced with suspense and intrigue. Terrific because it brings back Judge Cyrus Brooks, homicide detective Frank Lotello and attorney Leah Klein, to aid Leah’s tech-savvy kid brother, JK, who uncovers a chilling conspiracy between the Kremlin and the White House, only to find himself in dire straits. If the raucous runup to the actual 2020 presidential election has been driving you to drink, JK’s Code will be your perfect nightcap.”

Paul Levine, #1 Amazon bestselling author of the Jake Lassiter series

“Ron Barak delivers timely stories that capture the moment, and JK’s Code is no exception. Packed with dark humor, gripping twists and thrilling turns, the latest book in the Brooks/Lotello series is bound to keep you entertained.”

Adam Hamdy, Sunday Times and international bestselling author

“Smart, speedy, and suspenseful, JK’s Code is a flat out great read. My favorite kind of book: characters you care about, a story ripped from the headlines, and a pace that doesn’t let up. The definition of a thriller!”

5/5 Stars – Riveting, Fast-Moving Story Line

“I hardly have time to breathe as the story unfolds from one chapter to the next. The terse paragraphs and short chapters keeps out any fluff. This is a political thriller on the hottest topics nowadays. The meticulous mind of the main character can only be matched with the author’s. I like how the author gives a clear timeline as he tells the story. You don’t have to like coding to appreciate the various elements of the plot. As in all good spy stories, there is an attractive spy thrown in to the mix. The cast is international, and appeals to readers of all ages. The settings move between Kazakstan, Russia, New Haven, and Atlanta.”

“An electrifying blend of political, techno, and international thriller genres, JK’s Code is the most-timely adventure you’ll read this year. Jake ‘JK’ Klein is Ron Barak’s best hero yet, a cool young hacker able to go toe-to-toe and keyboard-to-keyboard with the nastiest and deadliest world leaders. Will JK make it through unscathed? Humorous, often satirical, and always exciting, make JK’s Code your next read.”

5/5 Stars – Witty Satire, Thrilling Intrigue

“A delightful political satire, peppered with moments of surreal parallels to the world we live in today. Barak’s novel carries with it an undertone of severity required to discuss these topics objectively (as a trial lawyer must maintain). However, the author’s through-line of general levity allows a subjective perspective to form that is curious, a little sardonic, yet always leaves the reader to form their own opinions.

Furthermore, the short chapters of JK’s Code allow the wide array of characters to have their individual moments in the sun as the story proceeds to tie them together seamlessly. The few holes left are clues I enjoyed puzzling on till the very end when all truths came to light.

Though a novel wrought with political commentary, this books reads almost like a whodunit, a fun and engaging escape from America’s current political climate – in spite of being wrapped up in a fictional version of it. All told, I could recommend no greater read to welcome in the winter and the new strides the world will undoubtedly take in the coming year.”

“JK’s Code is shockingly relevant, an action-packed thriller that mirrors our political turmoil with frightening accuracy.”

Tess Gerritsen, New York Times bestselling author of the Rizzoli & Isles novels

JK’s Code is really a suspenseful, satirical take on Politics and Technology in timely perhaps timeless fashion during an election year. I couldn’t put this book down or stop laughing as well as shaking my head. It really does make you wonder what is possible for foreign interference especially when Russia has been in the news and its influence with the Dark Web is just the tip of an iceberg of a well thought out story line… This novel will really make you think of any and all possibilities.”

“You are truly captivated by the possibility that it could actually happen. And we now know that it indeed really did happen.”

JK’s Code is this generation’s acclaimed and influential War Games. Ronald S. Barak’s prescient, perfectly timed, and polished thriller takes current events and somehow makes them even more terrifying than they already are. Politics is no fun at all these days, unless Barak is the one writing about it. JK’s Code is a political thriller extraordinaire!”

Jon Land, USA TODAY bestselling author of the Caitlin Strong series

“The Brooks/Lotello thriller novels are immediately likeable and pack a bone-jarring punch. In JK’s Code, an unparalleled real-time election fraud political thriller, Barak swings for the fences and knocks it out of the park.”

Barry Lancet, Award-winning author ofThe Spy Across the Table

JK’s Code is tense, timely and terrific!”

Lee Child, #1 New York Times bestseller of the Jack Reacher Novels

“If you blended Dan Brown’s conspiratorial storytelling with Brad Meltzer’s political potboiler, you might end up with Ronald S. Barak’s JK’s Code—but the novel is all its own. Both chillingly topical and as fast as an Indy racer on ice, treat yourself to this thrill ride of a mystery.”

James Rollins, #1 New York Times bestseller of The Last Odyssey

“Keen research and high-tech suspense drives Ronald S. Barak’s new thriller, JK’s Code; an incredibly timely political thriller about election fraud and the technology behind it, you’ll wonder where reality ends and fiction begins.”

Brad Meltzer, #1 New York Times bestseller of The Escape Artist

JK’s Code is a book that will captivate readers well beyond the 2020 election. With the exception of Stephen King, Barak is now the first three-time ‘best of the year’ Best Thrillers Magazine honoree. JK’s Code is a really exceptional novel. The Bottom Line: A timely, compulsively readable political and legal thriller that wryly connects the terrors of the dark web with the fragile state of democracy. One of the year’s best thrillers.”

Best Thrillers Magazine, BestThrillers.com

JK’s Code draws from the headlines of 2020 to create a political Armageddon scenario that won’t be soon forgotten. This suspenseful thriller kept me turning pages deep into the night.”
